Abstract: Segmented indenter used in this study was assembly of T-plates, each supported on three load cells to measure force generated during interaction with ice. This allowed measurement of force in each segment as well as whole width of indenter. Results presented are force and displacement histories from tests using different numbers of segments and at different speeds. Discusses main result of tests, which is that effective pressure measured at low indentation rate was higher than that at high indentation rate.
