Record #117940:

Performance of a right-angled, evaporative thermosyphon / G.S.H. Lock, Jialin Fu.

Title: Performance of a right-angled, evaporative thermosyphon / G.S.H. Lock, Jialin Fu.
Author(s): Lock, G. S. H.
Fu, Jialin.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1992. Presented ... Calgary, Alberta, Canada, June 7-12, 1992. Vol. 4 - Arctic/polar technology. (1992.),
Abstract: Uses in Arctic engineering include maintenance of frozen ground beneath structures, de-icing of bridge decks and railway points, and storage of foods. Discusses results of experimental study of small-bore tubes charged with water. Two configurations are considered: vertical condenser with horizontal evaporator beneath, and vertical evaporator with horizontal condenser above. Heat transfer data are presented. These enable thermal performance of two configurations to be compared with each other, with that of linear thermosyphon, and with that of corresponding single-phase thermosyphon.
