Record #117935:

Ambient temperature effects on spray ice island construction using saline (sea) and fresh water / D.M. Masterson.

Title: Ambient temperature effects on spray ice island construction using saline (sea) and fresh water / D.M. Masterson.
Author(s): Masterson, D. M.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1992. Presented ... Calgary, Alberta, Canada, June 7-12, 1992. Vol. 4 - Arctic/polar technology. (1992.),
Abstract: Experience has shown that marked change in rate of ice buildup occurs at ambient temperatures >20°C. Presents analysis which explains this phenomenon, using basic theories of heat transfer and chemistry of saline water.
