Abstract: Correlations for approximating landing stresses and parking deflections have been developed from computer program VISICE (finite-element model that predicts elastic and linear viscoeleastic responses of loaded ice sheet). Technique is now extended to reformat landing and parking curves as nomographs that demonstrate more clearly relationships between ice thickness, gross aircraft weight, surface temperature and wheel configuration.
