Record #117930:

Quantifying sea ice drag through laboratory experiments / Michael S. Bruno.

Title: Quantifying sea ice drag through laboratory experiments / Michael S. Bruno.
Author(s): Bruno, Michael S.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1992. Presented ... Calgary, Alberta, Canada, June 7-12, 1992. Vol. 4 - Arctic/polar technology. (1992.),
Abstract: Towing-tank experiments were conducted on scale-model ice floes in order to estimate relative contributions of skin friction and form drag to total ice--water resisting force. Results are used to formulate individual parametric drag coefficient relationships for each contribution as function of ice-floe characteristics.
