Record #117921:
Possible ice-core evidence for a fresh melt water cap over the Atlantic Ocean in the Early Holocene / David A. Fisher.
Title: | Possible ice-core evidence for a fresh melt water cap over the Atlantic Ocean in the Early Holocene / David A. Fisher. |
Author(s): | Fisher, David A. |
Date: | 1992. |
Publisher: | Berlin: Springer |
In: | Last deglaciation : absolute and radiocarbon chronologies. (1992.), |
Abstract: | Discusses evidence from ice core obtained from top of flowline of Agassiz ice cap, Ellesmere Island, and then reviews numerical experiments carried out with stable isotope/precipitation model. Model is run for Arctic ice-cap sites in present conditions, but changing δ¹⁸O and δD of source water over wide range and as function of latitude. Finally, model is run using present conditions but altering sea-ice coverage, wind, and relative humidity. |
Notes: | In: The last deglaciation : absolute and radiocarbon chronologies / Edouard Bard, Wallace S. Broecker, eds. |
