Record #117916:

¹⁰Be peaks as time markers in polar ice cores / J. Beer, and 8 others.

Title: ¹⁰Be peaks as time markers in polar ice cores / J. Beer, and 8 others.
Author(s): Beer, J.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Berlin: Springer
In: Last deglaciation : absolute and radiocarbon chronologies. (1992.),
Abstract: ¹⁰Be concentration peaks observed in Antarctic ice cores from Vostok (35 and 60 ka BP) and Dome Circe (35 ka BP) offer possibility of synchronizing ice-core records from southern and northern hemispheres. 35 ka BP peak is clearly present in Byrd (Antarctic) core and probably in Camp Century (Greenland) core. Comparisons with δ¹⁸O and SO₄ suggest that peak is caused by higher production rate of cosmogenic radionuclides rather than by climatic effects. 60 ka BP peak could not be found in either core, perhaps due to inadequate sampling.
