Record #117907:

Glacial stratigraphy in Norway / Bjørn G. Andersen.

Title: Glacial stratigraphy in Norway / Bjørn G. Andersen.
Author(s): Andersen, Bjørn G.
Date: 1992.
In: Geological Survey of Finland. Special Paper. (1992.), Vol. 15 (1992)
Abstract: Evidence suggests that ice sheet reached or overrode west coast twice in Early Weichselian and at least twice in Middle Weichselian. Stratigraphy of last 20 ka is known from lake cores in northern Norway. Ice overrode lakes and coast between 18.5 and 19.0 ka; after 18.5 ka, outermost part of coast was ice-free. In southern Norway, ice sheet did not retreat from coast until 13.5 to 12.5 ka.
