Relationship between mineralogy and the physico-chemical properties of till in central Finland / Marja Liisa Räisänen, Markku Tenhola, Jari Mäkinen.
Title: | Relationship between mineralogy and the physico-chemical properties of till in central Finland / Marja Liisa Räisänen, Markku Tenhola, Jari Mäkinen. |
Author(s): | Räisänen, Marja Liisa. Tenhola, Markku. Mäkinen, Jari. |
Date: | 1992. |
In: | Geological Society of Finland. Bulletin. (1992.), Vol. 64(1) (1992) |
Abstract: | Till, weathered bedrock and rock samples were collected from area where element concentrations of till ranged abruptly from high in anomalous zone (north-east) to low in non-anomalous zone (south-west). This abrupt change in mineralogical and physical properties is suggested to be attributed to difference in transport and accumulation dynamics of overburden during deglaciation. |
Notes: | Geological Society of Finland. Bulletin. Vol. 64(1) :35-58 (1992). |
Keywords: | 551.33 -- Glacial geology. 551.332.212 -- Till or boulder clay. 553 -- Economic geology. E7 -- Glaciology: glacial geology and ice ages. (*56) -- Finland. |
