Record #117884:

Salmon River experimental ice boom: 1989-90 and 1990-91 winter seasons / Kathleen D. White.

Title: Salmon River experimental ice boom: 1989-90 and 1990-91 winter seasons / Kathleen D. White.
Author(s): White, Kathleen D.
Date: 1992.
In: CRREL Special Report. (1992.), Vol. 92-20 (1992)
Abstract: Several frazil-ice control systems have been tested previously at Salmon and in laboratory flume facility. Describes operation of conventionally designed experimental ice boom during winter 1989-90. Observations indicated that capture efficiency was related to configuration, hydraulic and climatic conditions at site, and internal strength of frazil ice transported to boom. Before 1990-91 season, modifications were made to take these factors into account.
