Record #117848:

Two-dimensional extrusion of crushed ice. Part 2: analysis / S.B. Savage, Mohamed Sayed, Robert M.W. Frederking.

Title: Two-dimensional extrusion of crushed ice. Part 2: analysis / S.B. Savage, Mohamed Sayed, Robert M.W. Frederking.
Author(s): Savage, S. B.
Sayed, Mohamed.
Frederking, Robert M. W.
Date: 1992.
In: Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1992.), Vol. 21(1) (1992)
Abstract: Describes analysis to predict pressure distribution developed during extrusion of crushed ice between two rigid plates approaching each other with constant velocity. Bulk crushed ice is assumed to behave as cohesive granular material which obeys Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion. Yield condition is assumed to be valid over entire volume of crushed ice. Results are compared with experiments presented in part 1 of this investigation.
