Abstract: Presents technique to estimate characteristic sizes and concentrations of particles in ice clouds, as well as integrated ice water path from simultaneous ground-based radar and infrared radiometer measurements. Approach is based on theoretical consideration of infrared thermal radiative transfer within cloud and can be applied to clouds that are semitransparent in infrared "window" and horizontally extensive.
