| Abstract: | Measurements made on Murtèl-Corvatsch and Pontresina-Schafberg rock glaciers. Permafrost thicknesses of about 70 m found where annual surface temperatures are between -1 and -3 C. Main problem was filling of bore hole with water. Ice contents of frozen debris range from 15 to 30% (ice-saturated) to well above 50% (supersaturated). Acoustic velocity was constant at 3700 m s⁻¹. In bedrock of Pontresina-Schafberg rock glacier, dc resistivity drops over order of magnitude, with temperature rising from -1 to 0°C. |
