Record #117619:

Glacial erosion and tectonic uplift in the Barents Sea / Erling Vågnes, Jan Inge Faleide, Steinar Thor Gudlaugsson.

Title: Glacial erosion and tectonic uplift in the Barents Sea / Erling Vågnes, Jan Inge Faleide, Steinar Thor Gudlaugsson.
Author(s): Vågnes, Erling.
Faleide, Jan Inge.
Gudlaugsson, Steinar Thor.
Date: 1992.
In: Norsk Geologisk Tidsskrift. (1992.), Vol. 72(3) (1992)
Abstract: Evidence suggests that large-scale erosion by marine ice sheets took place in Barents Sea in Late Cenozoic, which, combined with glacioeustatic lowering of global sea level, lowered basin several hundred metres. Amount of erosion suggests Late Cenozoic uplift in Svalbard--Bjørnøya area of about 1000 m.
