Record #117328:
Measurements of meteorological conditions and ablation at Tyndall glacier, southern Patagonia, in December 1990 / Ken Koizumi, Renji Naruse.
Title: | Measurements of meteorological conditions and ablation at Tyndall glacier, southern Patagonia, in December 1990 / Ken Koizumi, Renji Naruse. |
Author(s): | Koizumi, Ken. Naruse, Renji. |
Date: | 1992. |
In: | Bulletin of Glacier Research. (1992.), Vol. 10 (1992) |
Abstract: | Measurements made from 8 to 18 December 1990. No systematic daily fluctuation of daily temperature was observed, although daily maximum air temperature was sometimes observed at nighttime, perhaps due to effect of variation in winds. Wind speed was high, 1.4 to 17.7 m s⁻¹, and mainly northerly (up- to down-glacier). Considers that ablation rates were affected strongly by meteorological conditions such as wind speed and solar radiation. |
