Record #117280:

Temporal response of subglacial sediment to water pressure fluctuations / Garry K.C. Clarke, Tavi Murray, Erik W. Blake.

Title: Temporal response of subglacial sediment to water pressure fluctuations / Garry K.C. Clarke, Tavi Murray, Erik W. Blake.
Author(s): Clarke, Garry K. C.
Murray, Tavi.
Blake, Erik W.
Date: 1992.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1992.), Vol. 73(14, spring meeting supplement) (1992)
Abstract: Abstract only. Likely to affect dynamics of normal and surge-type glaciers. Simultaneous measurements of subglacial deformation and water pressure beneath Trapridge Glacier, Yukon, confirm that bed is deforming but suggest no clear relationship between water pressure and deformation rate. Situation analyzed by means of model of response of permeable dilatant deforming layer to water pressure fluctuations. Applied to laboratory deformation experiments on Trapridge till and to in situ deformation measurements made beneath glacier.
