| Abstract: | Annually laminated sediments, also known as varved sediments, are valuable archives for palaeoecological studies because of precise dating they allow. Varves of various types are discussed, not only those of glaciolacustrine origin. This issue constitutes proceedings (15 articles) of workshop and final report of Working Group, which was established in Ottawa in 1987. |
