Abstract: 100 m-long ice core from Enderby Land. Five stages of bubble formation observed. Pore space closed off at depth of 72 m. Age of ice at this depth is about 470 a BP, assuming accumulation rate of 9 cm a⁻¹. So air bubbles are about 470 years younger than surrounding ice.
