Record #117201:

Bare ice fields developed in the inland part of Antarctica / Shuhei Takahashi, Tatsuo Endoh, Nobuhiko Azuma, Shigemi Meshida.

Title: Bare ice fields developed in the inland part of Antarctica / Shuhei Takahashi, Tatsuo Endoh, Nobuhiko Azuma, Shigemi Meshida.
Author(s): Takahashi, Shuhei.
Endoh, Tatsuo.
Azuma, Nobuhiko.
Meshida, Shigemi.
Date: 1992.
In: National Institute of Polar Research. Proceedings of the NIPR Symposium on Polar Meteorology and Glaciology. (1992.), Vol. 5 (1992)
Abstract: Observations at Seal Rock, Sør Rondane, 1989-90. High rate of sublimation (200 to 280 mm a⁻¹) was found. Air temperature was about 1°C higher than that on snow surface. High sublimation rate was explained by low albedo of bare ice; its value was estimated from consideration of heat budget. Bare ice fields were classified into four types according to origin.
