Abstract: | Radar reflectivity factor Z and the snowfall rate R were measured by vertical-pointing radar and high sensitivity snow gauge, respectively. Best fit Z-R found for three snowfall events. Diameter and fall velocity of snow particles were also measured using video camera and image processor. Range of snowfall rate was similar for all three cases, whereas radar reflectivity factor was different. |
