Abstract: Recounts US retaliation to Argentine impoundment of three sealing vessels in which the Navy sloop Lexington was sent to destroy the Falklands capital at Puerto Soledad, and with it, the Argentine military defences. Discusses US foreign policy of the day and how the British took advantage of the situation to secure a South Atlantic base.
