Abstract: Reproduces text of recently re-discovered diary relating to expedition led by John Ross in search for Northwest Passage. Diary covers period 4 May to 14 October, 1832, during which Victory was abandoned in Lord Mayor Bay (Boothia Peninsula), an abortive attempt was made to escape using sledges and boats, and preparations were made to winter at Fury Beach.
