Record #116918:

Predicted time-scales for GISP2 and GRIP boreholes at Summit, Greenland / Christine Schøtt, E.D. Waddington, Charles F. Raymond.

Title: Predicted time-scales for GISP2 and GRIP boreholes at Summit, Greenland / Christine Schøtt, E.D. Waddington, Charles F. Raymond.
Author(s): Schøtt, Christine.
Waddington, E. D.
Raymond, Charles F.
Date: 1992.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1992.), Vol. 38(128) (1992)
Abstract: Presents preliminary estimates based on ice-flow model calculations. At GISP2, 10 ka BP isochrone (Wisconsin--Holocene transition) is placed at 1535 m ice-equivalent depth. At GRIP, corresponding depth is 1377 m. Calculations show ice older than 200 ka at 100 m above bed at both coring sites. Comparison with absolute dates, when they become available, will lead to understanding of relative roles of transient ice dynamics and climatic transients on stratigraphic record.
