Record #116897:

Vector analysis of ice fabric data / Michael G. Ferrick, Kerran J. Claffey.

Title: Vector analysis of ice fabric data / Michael G. Ferrick, Kerran J. Claffey.
Author(s): Ferrick, Michael G.
Claffey, Kerran J.
Date: 1992.
In: CRREL Report. (1992.), Vol. 92-1 (1992)
Abstract: Develops general quantitative method for analysis of uniaxial crystal orientation data. Data are represented as unit vectors from origin with endpoints on surface of unit sphere. Orthogonal least-squares error measure is used to develop equations that define closed plane and line through data. Applications of analysis to sea-ice samples include both numerical and Schmidt net presentations of results.
