Abstract: | Levels of polyhydric alcohols and oligosaccharides measured in samples of Umbilicaria decussata and Usnea sphacelata obtained from unpolluted and polluted sites on Bailey Peninsula, Windmill Islands, Budd Coast, to determine effects of alkaline cement dust originating from concrete mixing activities at nearby Casey base. Discusses use of sensitive lichen species in environmental monitoring. |
