Record #116464:

Application of passive microwave satellite data in Arctic climate research / Konrad Steffen, Axel J. Schweiger.

Title: Application of passive microwave satellite data in Arctic climate research / Konrad Steffen, Axel J. Schweiger.
Author(s): Steffen, Konrad.
Schweiger, Axel J.
Date: 1992.
In: Glaciological Data. (1992.), Report GD-24 (1992)
Abstract: Stresses importance of effect of even small changes in sea-ice extent on energy fluxes between ocean and atmosphere, and discusses value of Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSM/I). Summarizes validation of algorithm for determination of sea-ice parameters developed for SSM/I data stream. Young-ice typing and heat flux retrieval by means of passive microwave data are also discussed.
