Eolian deposition on western Fosheim Peninsula, Ellesmere Island, Northwest Territories during the winter of 1990-91 / Sylvia A. Edlund, Ming-ko Woo.
Title: | Eolian deposition on western Fosheim Peninsula, Ellesmere Island, Northwest Territories during the winter of 1990-91 / Sylvia A. Edlund, Ming-ko Woo. |
Author(s): | Edlund, Sylvia A. Woo, Ming-ko. |
Date: | 1992. |
In: | Geological Survey of Canada. Paper. (1992.), Vol. 92-1B (1992) |
Abstract: | Discusses critical winter climate factors which affect eolian transported materials, describes several types of fresh eolian deposits encountered in spring 1991, explores possible reasons for enhanced eolian activity in winter 1991, and discusses consequences of such deposition. Low regional snowfall and redistribution of snow by strong winds created substantial bare areas which became sources for deposition of dust. |
