Record #116369:
Translated title: | Preliminary studies on the Quaternary geology of the regions of Big Bald Mountain and of Serpentine Mountain, New Brunswick. |
Author(s): | Doiron, A. |
Date: | 1992. |
Language: | French. |
In: | Geological Survey of Canada. Paper. (1992.), Vol. 92-1D (1992) |
Abstract: | Observed glacial striations suggest that Late Wisconsin glaciers flowing from west and originating from dispersion centre located in Notre Dame Mountains or ice divide in northern Maine veered to north-east in Curventon-Bathurst after contact with ice flowing from Gaspereau dispersion centre northwards, and from Escuminac dispersion centre westwards. Evidence suggests readvance towards north-east of glacier front, which might be associated with climatic deterioration during Late Dryas. |
Notes: | Geological Survey of Canada. Paper. Vol. 92-1D :77-82 (1992). English abstract, p. 77. |
