Monitoring of a drifting giant iceberg in the South Atlantic / Argentina. Servicio Meteorologico Nacional.

Title: Monitoring of a drifting giant iceberg in the South Atlantic / Argentina. Servicio Meteorologico Nacional.
Author (corporate): Argentina.
Date: 1992.
In: World Meteorological Organization Bulletin. (1992.), Vol. 41(1) (1992)
Abstract: In 1986, large part of Filchner Ice Shelf broke away, forming three tabular icebergs, identified as "A", "B", and "C". "A" became dislodged and was moved along by currents across Weddell Sea, along eastern coast of Antarctic Peninsula and into South Atlantic. Area was originally about 3800 km², and has now been reduced by about 20%. Position has been monitored daily since August 1991 by means of satellite data.
