Record #116257:

The Antarctic ice sheet and environmental change: a three-dimensional modelling study / Philippe Huybrechts.

Title: The Antarctic ice sheet and environmental change: a three-dimensional modelling study / Philippe Huybrechts.
Author(s): Huybrechts, Philippe.
Date: 1992.
In: Berichte zur Polarforschung = Reports on Polar Research. (1992.), Vol. 99 (1992)
Abstract: Main theme is response of ice sheet to changes in environmental conditions, on longer (10⁴ to 10⁵ a) palaeoclimatic time scale and on shorter (10² a) scale associated with future greenhouse warming. Develops high-resolution 3-D flow model, covering entire ice domain. This incorporates coupled ice shelf, grounding-line dynamics, basal sliding, and isostatic bed adjustment. It has full coupling between thermal field and ice flow, and ice-sheet geometry is freely generated in response to specified environmental conditions. Model is driven by changes in sea level, surface temperature, and mass balance.
