| Abstract: | 1991 was several decadal anniversaries in East Greenland, so Kommando published hitherto little known archive, by deputy to Carl Ryder. Expedition set cross-disciplinary tradition, here geology, geomorphology, archaeology and biology. First muskox was brought to Zoological Museum. Vedel collected systematic climate and sea measurements. Book consists of fairly complete selection from diary, dealing with sailing through ice, Scoresby Sund, muskox hunt, arrival at Hekla Havn for winter, boat trips up sound, Christmas and New Year celebrations, three sled tours and concluding sail through ice. |
