Abstract: Sintef evaluated cold climate work clothing under field conditions in Svalbard in winter 1988 and 1989, especially properties of different under- clothing, middle layer clothing, outer garments and work shoes. Distribution of accumulated sweat was graphed for different test subjects. Ventilation of clothing causes problems when activity alternates with quiet periods.
