Record #115145:
Aspects of soil geography in South Greenland / Bjarne Holm Jakobsen.
Title: | Aspects of soil geography in South Greenland / Bjarne Holm Jakobsen. |
Author(s): | Jakobsen, Bjarne Holm. |
Date: | 1991. |
Publisher: | Copenhagen: Reitzel |
Abstract: | Reports studies of soils in sub-Arctic Greenland with special emphasis on their pedogenetic variation. Due primarily to climatic gradient from maritime coastal areas to more continental interior, zonal soils range from strongly leached and acid Spodosols to only weakly acid Inceptisols. Chemical analyses showed multiple process system in formation of soils in area and probable general sequence of intensity of pedogenetic processes. Study provided better understanding of variations within group of podzolised soils. |
Notes: | Detached from: Soil research in Denmark. J.P. Møberg and H. Breuning Madsen, eds. (Folia Geographica Danica. Tom 19) |
