Generation of sea ice geophysical flux estimates utilizing a multisensor data processor in preparation for the RADARSAT and EOS eras / Benjamin Holt, Ronald Kwok, Frank D. Carsey, John C. Curlander.

Title: Generation of sea ice geophysical flux estimates utilizing a multisensor data processor in preparation for the RADARSAT and EOS eras / Benjamin Holt, Ronald Kwok, Frank D. Carsey, John C. Curlander.
Author(s): Holt, Benjamin.
Kwok, Ronald.
Carsey, Frank D.
Curlander, John C.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Fairbanks, AK: University of Alaska, Geophysical Institute/Centre for Global Change and Arctic System Research
In: International Conference on the Role of the Polar Regions in Global Change : proceedings of a conference held June 11-15, 1990 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. (1991.), Vol. 1.
Abstract: By combining geophysical sea-ice algorithms currently in place in Alaska SAR Facility Geophysical processing system with multiple sensor and environmental data and models, it will be possible to compute heat fluxes which are critical to examining air--sea--ice interactions and ocean circulation for effects of climate change. These algorithms will make use of future SAR systems, including RADARSAT and EOS SAR, with wide swath mapping capabilities, which are scheduled to be launched soon.
