Record #114445:

Algorithms to enhance radar image / Fayçal Kahloun, Ajit Nilakantan.

Title: Algorithms to enhance radar image / Fayçal Kahloun, Ajit Nilakantan.
Author(s): Kahloun, Fayçal.
Nilakantan, Ajit.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Montreal: Transportation Development Centre
Abstract: Object was to implement, test and select image processing techniques in order to enhance and segment ice features present in marine radar images. Goal for enhancement is to facilitate visual correlation between marine radar image and its corresponding SAR image. Segmentation is used to find and define regions or ice floes in marine radar image. Once these are determined, they are valid entities in computer and can be used for visual enhancement or for later automatic correlation between marine radar and SAR images.
