Record #114358:

In situ measurements of micro-scale surface roughness of sea ice / J.S. Paterson, B. Brisco, S. Argus, G. Jones.

Title: In situ measurements of micro-scale surface roughness of sea ice / J.S. Paterson, B. Brisco, S. Argus, G. Jones.
Author(s): Paterson, J. S.
Brisco, B.
Argus, S.
Jones, G.
Date: 1991.
In: Arctic. (1991.), Vol. 44(supplement 1) (1991)
Abstract: Surface roughness is important as it governs radar backscatter, and quantitative measurements are needed as input to backscatter models. Describes prototype portable meter, designed specifically to do this, which incorporates camera and flash mounted on platform. This measures two surface roughness parameters: root mean square height and correlation length. Describes field use of instrument in Labrador Sea, 1989.
Notes:

Arctic. Vol. 44(supplement 1) :140-146 (1991).
