Abstract: | Based on these compression tests, it is proposed that stress-strain behaviour of frozen soil can be classified into nine types; their corresponding stress-strain equations are given. Stress-strain behaviour depends mainly on strain rate and temperature. According to ranges of strain rate and temperature for the nine types of stress-strain behaviour, maps of constitutive relationships of various kinds of frozen soils in uniaxial compression are presented. |
