Factors governing a frost heave ratio / Y. Miyata, S. Akagawa.
Title: | Factors governing a frost heave ratio / Y. Miyata, S. Akagawa. |
Author(s): | Miyata, Y. Akagawa, S. |
Date: | 1991. |
Publisher: | Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema |
In: | Ground Freezing 91. Proceedings of the Sixth International Symposium on Ground Freezing, Beijing, 10-12 September 1991. Vol. 1. (1991.), |
Abstract: | Experimental verification that frost-heave ratio (ξ) is function of σ₁ and αu/U, where σ₁, alphau and U are overburden pressure, temperature gradient at freezing front in unfrozen soil, and ice penetration rate, respectively. It was also confirmed that proposed model for mechanism of frost heave is valid for estimating heavability. |
