Record #114305:

Thermomechanical modelling of freezing soil / M. Frémond, M. Mikkola.

Title: Thermomechanical modelling of freezing soil / M. Frémond, M. Mikkola.
Author(s): Frémond, M.
Mikkola, M.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema
In: Ground Freezing 91. Proceedings of the Sixth International Symposium on Ground Freezing, Beijing, 10-12 September 1991. Vol. 1. (1991.),
Abstract: Derives mathematical model for freezing of saturated soil, using basic principles of continuum mechanics and macroscopic thermodynamics. Saturated soil is considered as mixture of soil skeleton, water and ice. Model is capable of describing cryogenic suction, water and heat transport, and frost heave.
Notes:

In: Ground Freezing 91. Proceedings of the Sixth International Symposium on Ground Freezing, Beijing, 10-12 September 1991. Vol. 1 / Xiang Yu, Changsheng Wang, eds.
