Record #113877:

Dynamics of continuous icebreaking by an icebreaker hull / Robert Ettema, Frederick Stern.

Title: Dynamics of continuous icebreaking by an icebreaker hull / Robert Ettema, Frederick Stern.
Author(s): Ettema, Robert.
Stern, Frederick.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Berlin: Springer
In: Ice-Structure Interaction. IUTAM/IAHR Symposium, St. John's, Newfoundland Canada 1989. (1991.),
Abstract: Presents overview of results from ice-towing tank study conducted in order to document relationships between icebreaking pattern, resistance, and hull motions for Polar Class icebreaker model hull moving continuously through level ice. For one set of experiments, hull was free to pitch, heave and undergo limited roll; for other set, hull was fixed. For each, hull was towed at same range of speeds through similar urea-ice sheets. Discussion, p. 691.
Notes:

In: Ice-Structure Interaction. IUTAM/IAHR Symposium, St. John's, Newfoundland Canada 1989 / Stephen J. Jones, Richard F. McKenna, Joy Tillotson, Ian J. Jordaan, eds.
