Record #113875:

Ice-structure interaction during indentation tests / Devinder S. Sodhi.

Title: Ice-structure interaction during indentation tests / Devinder S. Sodhi.
Author(s): Sodhi, Devinder S.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Berlin: Springer
In: Ice-Structure Interaction. IUTAM/IAHR Symposium, St. John's, Newfoundland Canada 1989. (1991.),
Abstract: Tank tests on fresh-water ice, involving measurements of loads, displacements, accelerations and failure processes of ice when indented with flat indenter bar in edge loading. Relative stiffness of bar can be altered. Three basic modes of ice behaviour were observed: creep deformation at low velocities, intermittent crushing at intermediate velocities, and continuous crushing at high velocities. Theoretical model is proposed which produces results similar to those of experiments. Discussion, p. 639-640.
Notes:
