Record #113703:

Ice island construction with ice--water mixtures / T.W. Forest, K. Szilder, E.P. Lozowski.

Title: Ice island construction with ice--water mixtures / T.W. Forest, K. Szilder, E.P. Lozowski.
Author(s): Forest, T. W.
Szilder, K.
Lozowski, E. P.
Date: [1991]
Publisher: Fairbanks, AK: University of Alaska Fairbanks
In: Proceedings of the Third International Symposium on Cold Regions Heat Transfer 1991. ([1991]),
Abstract: Discusses some fundamental aspects of surface freezing of ice--water mixtures of varying ice fraction as method of construction. Proposed as alternative to spraying, which is confined to air temperatures between -20 and -32°C and wind speed <8 m s⁻¹, whereas ice-water flooding has no such limitation.
Notes:

In: Proceedings of the Third International Symposium on Cold Regions Heat Transfer 1991 / John P. Zarling, Stephanie L. Fausett, eds.

Keywords: 624.14 -- Snow and ice engineering.
624.147 -- Ice and snow as foundation and engineering materials.
622.24 -- Drilling and boring.
E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering.
