Effect of snow drifting on large-scale aridization / A.K. Dyunin, Ya.D. Kvon, A.M. Zhilin, A.A. Komarov.
Title: | Effect of snow drifting on large-scale aridization / A.K. Dyunin, Ya.D. Kvon, A.M. Zhilin, A.A. Komarov. |
Author(s): | Dyunin, A. K. Kvon, Ya. D. Zhilin, A. M. Komarov, A. A. |
Date: | 1991. |
Publisher: | Wallingford: IAHS Press |
In: | Glaciers--Ocean--Atmosphere Interactions. Proceedings of the International Symposium held at St. Petersburg, 24-29 September 1990. (1991.), |
Abstract: | During snowstorms, sublimation from snow-covered surface increases significantly, due to turbulent mixing in boundary atmospheric layer. Removal of water vapour leads to loss of vegetation, and desertification follows. |
Notes: | In: Glaciers--Ocean--Atmosphere Interactions. Proceedings of the International Symposium held at St. Petersburg, 24-29 September 1990 / Vladimir Mikhaylovich Kotlyakov, A. Ushakov, A.F. Glazovskiy, eds. |
