Erosion and sediment transport in Svalbard / Jim Bogen.
Title: | Erosion and sediment transport in Svalbard / Jim Bogen. |
Author(s): | Bogen, Jim. |
Date: | 1991. |
Publisher: | Oslo: Norwegian National Committee for Hydrology |
In: | Arctic hydrology. Present and future tasks. Hydrology of Svalbard - hydrological problems in cold climate. Seminar Longyearbyen, Svalbard, 14-17 September 1990. (1991.), |
Abstract: | Sediments transported in rivers originate from glacial erosion by active glaciers, from erosion of debris produced by glaciers active during Quaternary, and from weathering of solid rocks. Here, measurements of transport of sediments from Brøggerbreen, Spitsbergen, in Bayelva (meltwater river) during 1989 are presented and compared with earlier measurements. |
