Record #113066:

Prediction of combined wind and snow loads for overhead line designs using synoptic climatological data / A.E.W. Ford.

Title: Prediction of combined wind and snow loads for overhead line designs using synoptic climatological data / A.E.W. Ford.
Author(s): Ford, A. E. W.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Ottawa: Environment Canada
In: Proceedings of the Third International Workshop on the Atmospheric Icing of Structures, 6-8 May 1986, Vancouver, Canada. (1991.),
Abstract: Reviews experiences in Great Britain. Describes development of model to imitate buildup of accretion and shows its application to hourly data collected by Meteorological Office during periods of overhead line failures attributed to blizzard codes. Demonstrates prediction of accretion and wind speed for given return periods by application of recurrence analysis model to data specified from conditions produced by accretion model.
