Record #112999:

Regional snow ablation in the Alaskan Arctic / Larry D. Hinzman, Douglas L. Kane, Robert E. Gieck.

Title: Regional snow ablation in the Alaskan Arctic / Larry D. Hinzman, Douglas L. Kane, Robert E. Gieck.
Author(s): Hinzman, Larry D.
Kane, Douglas L.
Gieck, Robert E.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Saskatoon: National Hydrology Research Institute
In: Northern hydrology : selected perspectives. Proceedings of the Northern Hydrology Symposium 10-12 July 1990, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. (1991.),
Abstract: Rates of snowpack ablation were monitored at three sites for four years in transect north from Brooks Range to coastal plain. Considerable variation in ablation found, spatially and temporally, although sites were only 115 km apart. Spatial variations largely due to redistribution of snow by wind. Temporal variations due to differences in surface energy balance.
