| Abstract: | Icing mounds on Sadlerochit and Hulahula rivers were investigated in April 1989, using short-pulse radar system from which water-bearing mounds could be distinguished from dry mounds and ice thickness, and mound height could be estimated. Distribution was measured on 50 to 70 km reach of each river from coast to mountains. All mounds exceeding 1.24 m in height over surrounding ice surface were found to contain water. |
