Record #112855:

Observations on Speke Glacier, Ruwenzori Range, Uganda / Georg Kaser, Bernd Noggler.

Title: Observations on Speke Glacier, Ruwenzori Range, Uganda / Georg Kaser, Bernd Noggler.
Author(s): Kaser, Georg.
Noggler, Bernd.
Date: 1991.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1991.), Vol. 37(127) (1991)
Abstract: Glacier revisited in January 1990. Comparison of present state with former observations showed that terminus receded 35 to 45 m between 1958 and 1977; since then it has retreated >150 m. Nearly half width of snout has been lost, mainly on western side, and entire western section of glacier has shrunk. Observed fluctuation conforms with changes occurring on other tropical glaciers.
