Record #112820:

Numerical simulation of viscoelastic behaviour of ice structures / Oskar H. Mahrenholtz, Zengqiang Wu.

Title: Numerical simulation of viscoelastic behaviour of ice structures / Oskar H. Mahrenholtz, Zengqiang Wu.
Author(s): Mahrenholtz, Oskar H.
Wu, Zengqiang.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: St. John's, Newfoundland: Memorial University of Newfoundland, Ocean Engineering Research Centre
In: POAC'91 : the 11th International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, September 24-28, 1991, St. John's, Canada. (1991.), Vol.1.
Abstract: Deals with ice as construction material, e.g. runways, roads, bridges. Proposes three-dimensional creep model for fresh-water ice, taking into account primary and secondary creep processes. Suggests approximate method for calculation of memory function, which makes it easier to take into account effects of stress/strain history in finite-element simulation. Develops algorithm on basis of proposed material model and available finite element model. Creep bending process of ice beams is simulated numerically.
