| Abstract: | Describes deployment of two satellite-tracked platforms on two medium-sized icebergs east of Newfoundland in March-April 1989, subsequent trajectories, and air reconnaissance undertaken to ensure that tracks represented iceberg movement. Presents results of numerical experiment in which data were used to determine if presence of large amounts of sea ice near iceberg has adverse effect on accuracy of International Ice Patrol iceberg-drift model. |
